But I didn’t know you had a top brand blender.
For fruit smoothies or maybe, even, margaritas?
For company in your apartment, sweet and luscious?
Or just yourself, to make it through the loneliness of lockdown?
I didn’t know about your climbing gym membership
Or your two pairs of climbing shoes, your harness, and all that rope.
I didn’t know you had professionally framed your photos from those trips; Catalina,
Yosemite, the Pinnacles.
Or had a guidebook to Thailand.
Or that bucket of emergency supplies in case of earthquakes.
Or the flak jacket.
But I did know about your precious pinecones, seashells, books, and journals.
And the photo of grandpa that was with you on the day you left this earth.
A life lived and forever, crushingly lost. Experiences deep and disappeared. Memories
made, and vanished.
Love held and held onto.
