We're humbled to finally be sharing with you the report put together by Healthier Colorado after the convening we had last year, in honor of Maddy. The report, which you can access here: Issue Paper on Acute Suicidality: An Urgent Need for Systemic Change, sheds light on the rapid onset of sudden suicide crises and gives recommendations for things people can do right now to better anticipate and respond to these critical events.
You know what a labor of love the convening was for our entire family; it was the culmination of about 18 months of deep and intense work on Jordana’s part as the team at Healthier CO and she researched and investigated the science behind sleep, mental health, and new diagnoses that we knew nothing about. Our hope is that this report will be the catalyst for changing the way we think about and respond to the mental health crises that far too many families, like ours, have experienced.
We'd like to state our deepest appreciation for your support of us, the girls, and this work. It would mean a lot if you could share the paper widely with anyone you think would benefit from reading this or is in a position to take action. In that way, we continue to honor Maddy's life and legacy far and wide.
And, because of the report’s release, there has been a surge of media interest in Maddy’s story and in changing the current clinical and public understanding of suicide. While we can’t control exactly what is said, shown, or emphasized by reporters, we’re glad that the ripples are spreading.

In addition, KGNU a local public radio station interviewed Jordana last week (we will share a link for that if it’s released).
We also share an interview with Oliver at the American Psychiatric Association's annual conference in LA, posted in the forum about that experience.
With love and gratitude,
Jordana and Oliver
