Maddy, you were one of my favorite people in elementary school. Though I was older than you, somehow we became buddies and had so much fun messing around with each other and laughing together during lunch. One particular memory that I can never forget, was when you had your rattail I think in first grade...I would always talk to you about your rattail, getting a haircut yada yada, and then one day to my surprise, I walked into class and saw an envelope sitting on my desk addressed "To Bonnie From Maddy". I was so excited thinking it was a little note inside. Imagine my surprise when I open this envelope and find a chunk of dirty blonde hair instead! You hadn't given me a note...you had given me your rattail!! haha! You had cut your hair and left it for me and even now as I'm writing this I'm laughing. You brought so much joy into this world and your impact reaches far and wide. Thank you for your love and the way that you cared for people and thank you that you're still making people smile and laugh, Maddy.

Hey Bonnie,
This is absolutely hilarious. I loved it when I first read it and have read it several times since. It's SO Maddy, and so nice to read about how his style of antics was consistent throughout life haha. Thank you so much for sharing! If you're interested in sharing more memories of Maddy here and/or collecting them overtime (on a document on something?) and sharing them with us/me later that would be awesome and so so treasured/appreciated. Even if it's not many more, I'm (eventually) going to be creating a kind of Maddy anthology, and I'll love some cute/hysterical school stories as well, of course. Anyway this is amazing, thank you again, and hopefully speak soon! Love, Hanna (Maddy's middle big sister)
Such a wonderful story, Bonnie. Thank you! We had never heard this before and it sure shows Maddy's humor and generosity from such an early age. Also, I think we were glad when that rattail disappeared!
Love,
Oliver
