Not a day goes by that I don’t think of you, my sweet nephew, Maddy. I think of you at all hours, sometimes with a tear, sometimes with an aching cry, and often with a smile. It feels so good to smile when I think of you. My cheeks get full as my lips stretch back naturally- and then love fills my whole being. It is a nice sensation even if only for a few seconds. However, those few seconds can last the whole day and keep me pushing through. I love to look at pictures of Maddy- and can feel his energy penetrating with momentum. Still seems impossible, and there are no adequate words to use in the process of this devastating grief. My deepest wish today is to be able to support Jordana, Oliver, Shayna and Hanna in a way that brings them comfort and peace. As we share with one another, let us lift one another up and rise, just as Maddy would do. Finding Maddy everywhere, today and every day.
