Hot feet in heavy boots,

Adhering to a path with no destination in mind

Crumbling treacherous footing yet eyes

drawn to the ocean.

Up and up and up

Above the coast and hills,

Peace comes, illuminated by

the distant bright mirror of the water.

Sandy coasts bend into the soft, heavy ocean air.

Thank you for sharing Maddy's beautiful words. What a powerful and moving poem. For me, I hear him capture the essence of peace he finds in nature. I find HOPE in his description of the landscape and ocean. Maddy...what a gift. xo
