I am so shocked to be writing this, and my deepest sympathy goes out to Maddy's family. I am so so so sorry for your loss. I went on Birthright with Maddy inn 2017 and he was undoubtedly the brightest light of the whole trip. He did more than just be friendly to everybody, he made FRIENDS with everybody. When I felt isolated, home sick and alone during the trip, he would notice and come hang with me. We even spent some of our free time in Jaffa tasting wine (against the rules), but it was the highlight of a tough trip for me. Luckily, we kept in touch since and had dinners or lunches together from time to time in LA. I really will cherish my memories with Maddy forever. I am keeping his family in my thoughts and hoping they find some sense of peace.

Hey Tavi, Thanks so much for writing this. I (and we) obviously appreciate it so so much. As you can probably guess, it's sometimes really difficult to come on this forum. Eventually I want to speak with everyone, but it will take time. I'm so happy though that you found him the brightest light of the trip. I don't think I remember Maddy telling me about the wine tasting, but that's hilarious! I'm so happy he realized when you were feeling down, and am not surprised at all by him coming to comfort and hang with you. That's totally who he was. Truly the most caring person I've ever met. I would love love love to hear about more memories you have from him both from birthright and from when you guys met up in LA! I knew you guys had a few dinners, but I don't think I heard many details from them. I'd definitely be up for hearing about whatever you remember, when you have time:) Thank you again, Tavi. Sending love, Hanna
