My brother and I met Maddy on our trip to Israel. He was one of the first people willing to start a friendly conversation and when I spoke with him he was always genuine, interested and kind. I remember him always volunteering first for the group projects no one wanted to start, and was so impressed by his inventiveness and thoughtfulness. Although I knew him for a short time, he holds a space in some of my most endearing memories.

Dear Alyssa, So good to hear from you, and thank you for posting. It's so nice to that you hold memories with him so dear. Of course he was the chatty and friendly one right away :) He was so interested in getting to know everybody, and those descriptors of him are spot on. Which project do you remember him wanting to start? Was this when we went to that weird hydroponic garden thing that none of us wanted to be at? I would love to hear/see any more memories you have of Maddy, big or small. And also (you might have guessed this was coming), do you have any other pictures to share? Either of Maddy or Maddy and I? This one you've posted is so lovely, I'm really glad you shared it :) And was this at the Holocaust Museum? Sending love from Berlin, Hanna
